Welcome to Afghan Sartorialist

This is a fashion blog. I think it may also end up an architecture blog. It is set in present time. Mostly, as the title suggests, in Afghanistan: fashion capital of central Asia and site of American's longest running war. There may be guest appearances by other nations, but probably not nations such as Milano or Savannah or the lower east and west sides of Manhattan.  At the outset it will be helpful to remember that this is a fashion/architecture blog in the sense that I will post pictures of people (or mannequins) wearing clothes, and other pictures of buildings without any people in them, or just small indistinct people if I need to show scale. Remember,  I, Doctor Eduardo Plarr, am not a designer or an architect. I am a doctor.  Here we have a mix and match ensemble in downtown Kabul, pairing nuevo/traditional bedazzled hat (a mainstay in Kandahar) with a white jacket (daring given the amount of fecal matter swirling through the streets at this time of year) and a scarf that matches nothing but is worn with a studied indifference.

  1. Great blog, Doctor Plarr! I'm glad you safely made it out of South America. I am greene with envy over your savvy fashion sense and excellent photography skills.
